The Transcontinental Railroad, the 1995 The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards Show…two moments in history that may seem like they have little to connect them. But when the two are considered deeply there are striking analogies, for both are the story of the East meeting the West. I wanted to capture these pivotal moments in history and their many parallels in the format of a zine.
